 ABOUT DSKPS

Deep South Koi & Pond Society is a nonprofit club which promotes the building and maintenance of garden ponds in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. We are a group of pond owners, not a commercial organization. We were formerly known as the Capital Area Pond & Water Gardening Society. In previous years, we have sponsored the May/June, charitable pond tour in Baton Rouge.

In conjunction with SELAS(Southeast Louisiana Aquarium Society), we organize an annual koi & goldfish show during the Baton Rouge Spring Garden Show in March. We also have a booth during this event where raffle tickets, t-shirts, aquatic plants, live koi & goldfish are sold.

As dedicated pond keepers, we gladly offer aid to members of our community in rehoming and rescuing unwanted or abandoned koi & goldfish. We sell many donated fish throughout the year to support our club. The society is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Are you new to the hobby and seeking guidance or answers to your questions? Are you planning your very first pond? Perhaps you're a knowledgeable hobbyist with years of ponding experience. We warmly welcome new members to join and encourage you to attend a meeting to find out if our society is right for you!
